Couple of weeks, I visited Canary Wharf which is considered to be the new thriving space in London. It is a vibrant business district with a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and wine bars, as well as healthcare and leisure facilities and an extensive arts and events programme.
Leading international companies enjoy the highest quality buildings, facilities and infrastructure within London’s newest business district.
Sharing some of the photographs (Enjoy the music when you play)
Nice work. Did any police officers or security guards approach you? I find I was being stopped about once every 20 minutes. Had to keep producing ID for some strange reason.
I enjoyed my time in photography without any hassles. Do make it a point to visit Canary Wharf, if you are in London.

I got a very thoughtful greeting on the New Year. I would like to share it with you:
Life is like having a cup of tea. You sit by the side of the window, lift the cup and take a careless sip, Only to realize, somebody forgot to put the sugar. Too lazy to go for it you somehow struggle through the sugarless cup. Until you discover un-dissolved sugar crystals sitting at the bottom…
The last line really stirred me. My new year resolutions would be to
Stir Management Accountants to aspire like Dr D K Sarraf
Stir Management Accountants to participate in discussions and share their knowledge on their blogs.
Stir Management Accountants in practice to their own website.
I had been reviewing the visitors of MA blog and there were visitors from place called “Mahape”. I was surprised to see the result since they have been a regular visitors to MA blog. I wondered where this place and on search it is in Navi Mumbai, India.
On Wikipedia, “Mahape or Mohope is a suburb of Navi Mumbai, India. It is also the name of a railway station on new Panvel - Karjat section of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, between Panvel and Khopoli.”
As a inquisitive visitor, I searched on google and the results were very astonishing. Leading companies in India have their offices in this place. Although, Mahape is a suburb of Navi Mumbai, how did the residents of Mahape did not write anything on wikipedia.
“Business without advertising is winking a girl in the dark. You know what you are doing, but the girl doesn’t.” Even though Mahape has lot of credentials but unless you go ahead and search for this place, you will never know about.
It is partly true with Cost & Management Accountancy profession. Management Accountants play crucial role in the organisation and economy, the general public always wink when you say, ” I am a Management Accountant”. So MA’s - Advertise your profession well.
For the visitors of Mahape who are regulars on MA blog, I would request you to write about Mahape on Wikipedia. The more your explain about Mahape with writings and pictures, the more opportunities you create for yourselves. Otherwise remember the phrase, “Business without advertising…..”.
Quality of life issues are often in the eye of the beholder. Yet in this age of global economic integration, executives and their families do place such factors as schooling, quality housing, health care, recreational amenities, and environment at the top of their list. Mercer Human Resource Consulting, which provides advice to multinational companies on international assignments, has come up with a global ranking of the world’s most livable cities based on 39 criteria ranging from personal safety to public transportation.
Switzerland’s main commercial and cultural center, Zurich topped the 215 cities considered globally, followed by Geneva, Vancouver, and Vienna, which tied for third. In the Asia-Pacific region, Auckland, New Zealand, (5) led the pack, while Sydney (9) cracked the top 10. Meanwhile, in North America, Canadian cities such as Toronto and Ottawa fared better than U.S. ones, of which Honolulu (27) performed best. The hardest of the hardship postings: Brazzaville, the capital city of the Republic of the Congo (214), and Baghdad (215).
The world livable cities have become top because of the efforts of their citizens. When are we making our cities ranked 148 - New Delhi , 151 - Mumbai, 153 - Bangalore & 159 - Chennai to move up in ladder.
The general opinion today is India is densely populated and the scope of improvement is very little. I have a different view.
Take a train from one part of India to another, you will see that lot of land in India is wasted. What India needs is new cities, new infrastructure viz. dams, roads etc to support the cities and a bright thoughts to develop them the way we want. India is rich in resources and it has to be exploited in a right way.
Share your thought, on how you will make any place in India to be best place in the world.
